We created a short 360° video featuring the South African Lions Rugby Team during a practice session. The project demonstrated the incredible potential of virtual reality and 360° video within the sports industry.
Using immersive video technology, spectators can gain unique behind-the-scenes access to team practices, training environments, and player interactions in a way that traditional video simply cannot replicate.
Beyond fan engagement, virtual reality also has strong educational and coaching potential within professional sport.
Coaches can use immersive 360° footage to review team practices, analyze positioning and strategies, and improve player development. The technology could also be used to educate and inspire upcoming rugby players by placing them directly inside professional training environments and coach-led practice sessions.
For young athletes, being immersed in a training session with professional rugby players could become a powerful learning and motivational experience.
